Third Grade Investigation on Whales Emi Banke, Claire Alexia, M.E. Labrie
Concept Map and Concept Description
The topic of whales was chosen for the third grade unit of life science in order to enhance and complete the standard of "Individuals of the same kind differ in their traits and sometimes the differences give individuals an advantage in surviving and reproducing. Plants and animals have physical features that are associated with the environments where they live."
Students use the whale as a way to investigate species characteristics and understand how animals adapt, interact, differ in type, and interact with their given ever changing environment.
